Dr. Tao Yang is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Immunology at Hannover Medical School, where she works in the research group of Prof. Sarina Ravens. She also contributes her expertise in single-cell data analysis to the Computational Biology Core Unit of the RESIST Cluster of Excellence.
Building on her previous work on the development and aging of human γδ T cells, she is currently investigating their roles in antiviral immunity and tissue immunology. By combining single-cell genomics with experimental immunology, she aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms that regulate γδ T cell function and translate these findings into innovative immunotherapeutic strategies. Within the PREPARE career development program, she is further developing her independent research profile and preparing for future funding applications and an academic career.
